Skywatchers—now in its third year—is an interdisciplinary performance installation developed by residents of the City’s Tenderloin neighborhood in collaboration with ABD artists. This site-specific community project reflects the complex interaction of social, political and economic forces at work in this neglected district, while making visible the stories and life experiences of Tenderloin neighbors. Skywatchers is free, open to the public, and features residents of the Cambridge and Senator Hotels with Anne Bluethenthal & Dancers, Embodiment Project, choral director Melanie DeMore, visual artist Stephanie Johnson, sound artist Alejandro Acosta, and photographer Deirdre Visser.
